BPS101 Board Of Education Welcomes Two New Board Members
Aaron Kilburg and RJ Mathis join the board.
BPS101 is proud to introduce the two newest members to the Board of Education, Aaron Kilburg and RJ Mathis. Stepping up to take on the challenge of being an elected member of a community organization is no easy task and we appreciate their commitment to our community.

Aaron Kilburg
Family:

Aaron and his wife Kathleen have 3 children at all levels of BPS101: a 14 year old daughter at Batavia High School, an 11 year old son at Rotolo Middle School, and a 9 year old daughter at JB Nelson Elementary.
Occupation:
Mr. Kilburg works with plumbing and mechanical engineers and design-build contractors in his role as the Midwest Commercial Sales Manager for NIBCO, a domestic manufacturer of commercial valves, fittings, and piping systems.
Education:
Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Community Involvement:
Aaron and his wife Kathleen have been residents of Batavia since October of 2003. Mr. Kilburg was the “Top Dog” from 2015-21 for the JB Nelson Watch D.O.G.S., a program that promotes father involvement and volunteerism. Aaron was a JBN PTO chairperson from 2015-21, including master of ceremony for the annual JBN Trivia Night fundraiser. Aaron has been involved in coaching a variety of youth sports over the past decade, including baseball with the Batavia Youth Baseball organization (BYB), Tri-Cities soccer, and Batavia Park District girls softball and boys basketball. From 2017-20 Aaron was a volunteer with the Batavia Pack 153 Cub Scout troop. This winter you might have seen Mr. Kilburg around town or heard him on WBBM radio as co-creator of the “We Side with Batavia Restaurants” campaign, a program that partnered with the Batavia City Council, Batavia Chamber of Commerce, and Batavia Main Street to promote and support the Batavia restaurant community.
RJ Mathis
Family:
RJ and his wife have two daughters that attend H.C. Storm Elementary School.
Occupation: RJ has 15 years of experience in higher education and currently works as a Manager of Program Mentors at Western Governors University.
Education:
RJ earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Human Resources from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Community Involvement:
In addition to being a PTO member at H.C. Storm, RJ is also co-chair of the Batavia Interschool Council. When not juggling those responsibilities, RJ is a member of the core team for Building our Future Together.
