Brush Collection To Resume In Batavia

The city's brush collection service will start back up again on May 14.

BATAVIA, IL — Warm weather has returned and hopefully it will stick around for awhile. With spring in full force, Batavia will restart its paid brush collection service in May to give homeowners an easy way to get rid of sticks, dead plants, and other natural debris.

Residents who participate in brush collection must have their limbs and brush at the curb of their home by 7 a.m. on Monday, city officials say. Most brush will be picked up by Friday of that same week.

The following rules apply for brush collection, officials say:

  • Maximum diameter: 6 inches
  • Maximum length: 12 feet
  • Stack brush in a pile with cut ends facing curbsite
  • Don't tie, bag, or bundle brush
  • No stumps, firewood, lumber, landscape material, or foreign objects
  • Residential brush only
  • Brush left out between collection dates is subject to a citation
