City Of Batavia Adjusts Refuse Collection During Holidays
The City of Batavia's will also collect live Christmas trees on the weeks of Dec. 28 and Jan. 4.
BATAVIA, IL — During the weeks of Christmas and New Year's Day, the City of Batavia will adjust the days on which it collects refuse on the Far West Side.
On the Far West Side, between Randall and the city's western limits will be collected on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, both pushed back days.
Collection on the South and North Sides will be collected as usual. For the South Side, between Wilson and Kirk/Randall, trash will be collected on Dec. 23 and Dec. 3o.

On the North Side, from Wilson to Fayban between Kirk and Randall, trash will be collected on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
The City of Batavia will also offer Christmas tree pickup during the weeks of Dec. 28 and Jan. 4, even for residents who do not have a sticker.

The city said Advanced Disposal, which was acquired by Waste Management, will collect trees left at the curbside on certain dates for each region. All plastic bags, ornaments, lights, nails and other items should be removed from trees before collection.
After the Christmas tree pickup period, residents must attach a refuse sticker to the tree and place it on the curb on a regular collection day to have it picked up.
Christmas tree pickup will be completed on:
- South Side (Wilson to the south between Kirk/Randall): Dec. 30 and Jan. 6
- North Side (north of Wilson to Fabyan between Kirk/Randall): Dec. 31 and Jan. 7
- Far West Side (Randall west to City limits): Jan. 2 and Jan. 8
