Fabyan Parkway Bridge Reopens After Construction
Though the road has reopened to traffic, drivers should still expect temporary lane closures as crews continue to work.
BATAVIA, IL — Local drivers can breathe a little easier after the Fabyan Parkway Bridge reopened for traffic over the weekend following a series of shutdowns for maintenance and improvements. Construction crews got back to work April 20 and wrapped up Friday, just over a month later, according to the Kane County Department of Transportation.
During construction, traffic on Fabyan Parkway was limited to one lane, creating some traffic jams and headaches for drivers. Though the road has fully reopened to traffic, drivers should still expect temporary lane closures as crews continue to work, according to a news release.
"The county thanks all of the persons affected by this bridge project for their patience and understanding as we completed this important bridge improvement," transportation department officials said in the release.

Kane County drivers can expect more construction projects and delays after the Memorial Day weekend is over, with the county set to start its Guardrail Improvement Program Tuesday. Crews will start on the south side of the county and work their way north until all necessary repairs and improvements are made, the release states. The county’s guardrail work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
