Foster Homes Needed for THIS Saturday 8/15!

URGENT! The weather in Tennessee this winter has been HOT! The shelter is not a fun place for dogs! They are kept in a kennel for 23 hours a day! These wonderful dogs are looking to get out of the shelter and into loving foster homes!

There so many great dogs that have the opportunity to get out of the hot weather and come to Illinois on Saturday 8/15. Since we don't have a physical shelter, we count on the kindness of people like you to open their homes to foster. We provide food, toys, treats, crate, leash, collar, and vetting at our participating vet offices located in Geneva, South Elgin, Elmhurst, Naperville, and Wheaton. We also have a supportive foster network ready and willing to answer questions, offer advice, and lend a hand.

These are some of the dogs that are impacted. Fostering is a very rewarding experience, and if you fall in love, you have the first option to adopt! Please let us know asap if your family can host a dog or puppy!

Happy, playful, bouncy, energetic and FUN are all words the shelter uses to describe Sylvie! This girl is 1 years old and just 35lbs. We think she might be part lab since she's very friendly and full of life! Sylvie would appreciate a home where she'll get lots of exercise and playtime! Another dog would be great for her too! Or maybe some kids to play fetch with!

Freya is a sweet and petite 33lbs 2 year old female mixed breed. Look at her baby blues! She came into the shelter with her puppy, who already has a foster. We can't leave mom behind! Freya is a loving mom to her pup and to every human she meets! She really likes head scratches and snuggling up close with the shelter volunteers. Freya is heartworm NEGATIVE!

The shelter describes Tess as a miniature German Shepherd! She's 2 years old and 29lbs. Tess is sweet and friendly girl who likes other dogs and people. Poor girl was found wandering the streets and the shelter can't figure out why no one came looking for this sweet girl! Maybe Tess can be your girl?

This is Zola! Look at those ears and that smile! Zola is a very sweet girl who gets along with dogs and people of all ages. She's a spunky girl and she's heartworm NEGATIVE! Zola is 2 years old and just 30lbs. Fostering is a great opportunity to SAVE a dogs life and bring a dog into your home to see if they are a good fit for your family. If so, you have the first choice to adopt!

Meet Baby!- This girl is 6 years old and, 35-40 lbs, She is a really sweet little lady that tries to keep a clean kennel. Baby gets along great with other dogs and people of all ages. Fostering is a great way to see if a dog is a good fit for your family!

Genie - 1 year-old 45# female collie/lab mix . She is a great dog with a lot of energy. She would love an active family and a fenced in yard would be a big plus. This girl is sweet, energetic and ready for a foster home!

Queenie is a 6 year old Shiba Inu weighing in at 21lbs. She's sweet and friendly and ignores other dogs. Her owners were moving and dropped her off at the shelter on their way out of town. Sadly Queenie is heartworm positive. She will need a home for 2-3 months while Safe Haven gets her treatment. This is a great opportunity to save a dog and see if she's the right fit for your family!

Meet the Beagle Boys! This group of handsome boys has found themselves at the shelter after their owners could no longer take care of them. They are typical beagles! Very sweet and friendly, after a quick moment of shyness. These boys like other dogs and people of all ages. They deserve to hitch a ride to freedom! Will you welcome one into your home?

Sambo is 6 years old and 38lbs. He's an easygoing boy looking for a chance at the good life. Will you give that to him? Sambo is heartworm NEAGTIVE!

Dan is 5 years old and 38lbs. Look at that nose sticking out! He just wants to be closer to the people! He's a happy boy who's looking for a happy life! Dan is heartworm positive.

Morty is 3 years old and 42lbs. He's a happy boy who's looking for a happy life! Morty is heartworm positive

Rick is 7 years old and 36lbs. Look at that smile! Rick is heartworm NEGATIVE!

Rambo is 6 years old and 35lbs. Look at those gorgeous eyes! Rambo is a sweetheart and deserves a chance at the good life!He is heartworm positive.

Don’t wait- We need to know by THIS Wednesday 8/13 in order to get them vetted and on the transport list.
