Geneva Loses to Normal in Last-Minute Win at the 4A Semifinal

Normal now advances to play Stevenson for the title on Saturday night.

There were less than 3 seconds left in the 4A semifinal game on Friday night between Geneva High School and Normal Community High School. And then, with only 2.8 seconds left, Normal scored two additional points to win 38-36, the Chicago Tribune is reporting.

“If someone told me we’d hold them to 38 points and have just 11 turnovers, I’d think we’d probaly win the game,” Geneva coach Phil Ralston told the Chicago Tribune. “I give them a tremendous amount of credit. They made it very difficult for us. I give Coach Witzig and his players full credit.”
