Harold Hall Quarry Beach Opens For Summer In Batavia

The beach is open for business just in time for the weekend's warm weather.

BATAVIA, IL — With temperatures inching up toward the 90s, there couldn't be a better time to mark the seasonal opening of Batavia's Harold Hall Quarry Beach. The beach marked its seasonal 2018 grand opening on Saturday, May 26, offering lots of residents a fun way to beat the heat and celebrate Memorial Day weekend.

Established in 1920, the beach, which was once a stone quarry, features a 60,000 square foot swimming area with a sand floor. Water features include diving boards, slides, islands, and more.

If you prefer land to water, you can play a game of beach volleyball or share a meal with friends and family at one of the beach's picnic tables. There's also a concession stand on hand that sells quick snacks and drinks.
