Illinois Senate Subbing DuPage County Board Member John Curran for Radogno

John Curran has been chosen to serve the remainder of Christine Radogno's term.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — DuPage County board member and Republican John Curran has been named to the Illinois Senate in place of former Sen. Christine Radogno's vacant seat.

Curran will serve as State Senator for the 41st District, according to a news release from DuPage County GOP. Radogno resigned in June after serving in the office since 1997.

“John Curran will be an excellent State Senator for the 41st District,” DuPage County GOP Chairman Brian Krajewski said. “As the vice chairman of the DuPage County Board, John is a strong advocate for fiscal restraint and good government reforms, has deep roots in the community, and knows the pressing issues that southwest suburban residents face.”

Committee members reportedly interviewed about a dozen candidates and agreed that Curran was the most qualified to complete the remainder of Christine Radogno’s term. Curran has formally served DuPage County's 3rd District since 2008. He has since pushed for transportation infrastructure development and cost-saving reforms for public employees, according to the release.

He is also a Cook County assistant state’s attorney, focusing on employment and labor litigation, and has municipal experience as a former trustee for the Village of Woodridge. Curran is currently a Downers Grove resident.

The 41st district he is representing comprises Lemont, Indian Head Park, La Grange, Western Springs, Homer Glen, Burr Ridge, Darien, Downers Grove, Lisle, Willowbrook, Woodridge, Naperville and Bolingbrook.
