Kane County Board Chair Grieves Death Of Husband Robert Krawczyk

Kane County Board Chair Corinne Pierog announced Thursday that her husband died the night before at their Batavia home.

BATAVIA, IL — Robert Krawczyk, a longtime architecture professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology and husband of Kane County Board Chair Corinne Pierog, died Wednesday night at their home in Batavia, according to a news release.

Krawczyk, who also owned BitArtWorks in Batavia, was recovering from a recent surgery to remove a brain tumor, the Kane County Chronicle reports.

Yurs Funeral Home in St. Charles will host services for Krawczyk at a later date, the release states.

“On behalf of the chairman and her family, we are grateful for your prayers and thoughts,” Kane County officials said in the release.

Pierog is expected to be out of the office until the week of Feb. 8, though she has not set an exact date for her return, the release states.
