Man Dies After Being Trapped Under Lawn Mower In Pond: Police
He was pulled to land by officers, paramedics and his co-workers, but died Monday at Delnor Hospital, police said.
BATAVIA, IL — A man died Monday after being trapped beneath a lawn mower in a Batavia pond, according to police.
Police and paramedics were called around 9:05 a.m. Monday to the 900 block of Moorehead Drive after the man went into the pond, according to a Facebook post from the Batavia Police Department.
He was pulled to land by police, paramedics and his co-workers, but it is unclear exactly how long he was underwater, police said. He later died at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, according to police.

Police said they are not yet releasing the man’s name.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has also opened an investigation into the man's death.
