Obituary: Jason Prescott, 44, of Batavia

Jason Prescott died from complications following a recent head injury, according to his obituary.

BATAVIA, IL — Jason Prescott, age 44, of Batavia, Illinois, passed away on Feb. 17 at Delnor Community Hospital, according to Moss Family Funeral Home. He was surrounded by loved ones who followed his courageous three-week battle against complications from a head injury, the according to the funeral home website. He will be remembered across the Batavia community for his enthusiastic coaching, volunteering and dedication to Batavia youth sports, and served as the Director of Baseball Operations, according to the the funeral home website.

Jason is survived by his wife Rebecca; children Jacob, Thomas, Matthew, and Abigail; his parents, George and Kathleen Prescott; parents in-laws, Marty and Gena Hartlieb; and sister, Tracy Sammarco. He is preceded in death by George W. and Delores Prescott, and Dwight and Doris Upton.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Avenue, and the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, at Chapelstreet Church, 2300 South Street, Geneva.
