Snow, Brutal Cold Bear Down On Batavia For 2nd Time In A Week
A winter weather advisory is in effect throughout the Kane County area until noon Friday.
BATAVIA, IL — Batavia residents are bracing for yet more snow Thursday, with a storm set to bring up to 4 inches of snow to the area.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Kane County region that runs until noon Friday. Snowfall started around 1 p.m. Thursday and could get heavier towards the evening.
Flurries are likely on Friday, with a high near 14 degrees, according to the NWS. Wind gusts as high as 35 mph are possible with a 20 percent chance of precipitation.

The weather service said there could be low visibility due to the snow and blowing snow, as well as snow and ice covered roads. Conditions will be hazardous during the Thursday evening commute, with gusty winds and blowing snow causing sharply reduced visibility.
The heaviest snowfall rates will be between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday.
