Residents near a home in the 2900 block of Royal Fox Drive reported hearing an explosion late Wednesday night. St. Charles Fire Department Chief Joe Schelstreet said that it’s definately possible that residents heard what sounded like explosions.
“It’s not unusual to have explosions or loud pipping noises especially when vehciles are involved,” he said. “When anything that is pressurized once it vents forcible, you can have certainly explosions.”
The attached garage housed two vehicles at the time of the fire. Both were completely destroyed. That is part of the reason the dollar loss is so high.
