Summer Volleyball Camp at Immanuel-Batavia
Immanuel Lutheran School in Batavia is once again offering Eagle volleyball camp, as it has since 2007, but with several major changes.

Immanuel’s volleyball coaches, Rebecca Bello and Bill McLane are changing the way the camps were run in the past in order to better focus on skill development with proper fundamentals; beginning with creating and solidifying the foundation.
Basic Skills Camp, Jul. 31-Aug. 2, 3:30-5 PM
This camp is for anyone, boys and girls, entering Grades 3 through 8. Younger and older students will be developing fundamental skills together, with drill stations specific to each age group. These sessions will focus on building the proper techniques for passing, setting, and serving. This camp will be an ideal opportunity for participants who have previously played volleyball to reinforce and sharpen their fundamental skills. It is very important to build this solid base of proper form to assure success and players advance in the game. This camp is recommended for anyone who has previously played competitively as well as players who are newer to the sport or feel they could use a refresher on how to use their bodies for proper passing and setting. Camp cost of $45 includes three 90 minutes sessions and camp t-shirt.

Advanced Skills Camp, Aug. 2-4, 5:30-7:30 PM
This camp is designed for children, boys and girls, entering Grades 6 through 8 only. These sessions will build on the basic skills and move participants to the next level; making them more competitive at a middle school varsity level. Skill development will focus on fine-tuning passing, defensive work, precision setting, hitting/attacking for offensive work, and serving. Guest coaches will be on hand to share their expertise with players at two camp sessions. One is a former professional volleyball player who played collegiately at the University of Illinois. The other was a collegiate setter at Miami (of Ohio) University. Both of these coaches have experience coaching elite club volleyball teams. Camp cost of $60 includes three two-hour sessions and camp t-shirt. Those who choose to participate in both Basic Skills and Advanced Skills camps may pay a reduced rate of $90 for both camps. Players participating in both camps will enjoy a pizza dinner on Wednesday between sessions.
