Taste Of Batavia Block Party Brings Classic Car Show, Pie Bakeoff
The Sept. 2 block party features live music, contests, and tastings from local eateries.

BATAVIA, IL — Batavia plans to send off summer in a big way with the annual Batavia Block Party and Taste of Batavia. Set for Sept. 2 in downtown Batavia near the Riverwalk, the festivities include a classic car show, a pie bake-off, live music, and interactive activities for kids.
Several local restaurants will be on hand at the Taste of Batavia, but there's no need to pick a favorite while you're there. You can get a sample tasting from participating restaurants for just $3 apiece. Beer and wine will be available for purchase throughout the event.
Live music and dance performances by local artists will set the tone to keep the energy going throughout the Batavia Block Party. The performance schedule is as follows:

- 4 p.m. Evan Reid
- 4:30 p.m. River City Revival
- 5:30 p.m. Batavia Academy of Dance
- 6 p.m. Dick Diamond and the Dusters
Classic cars will line North Wilson Street between the Riverwalk and N. River St., giving partygoers a chance to peek beneath the hoods of some rare, vintage rides.
The Taste of Batavia Block Party will also feature a special section set aside just for kids. Children can get their faces painted, have an artist twist their favorite balloon animal, or jump around in a bounce house.
