Three Injured When Car Crashes into Big Rock Cafe in Kane County

Kane County Sheriff's Police are investigating the crash.

A vehicle crashed through the front wall of the Big Rock Cafe, 103 W. Galena Street in Big Rock Thursday afternoon.

Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the accident at about 1 p.m.

“A 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up had pulled into the parking lot of restaurant and instead of applying the brakes to stop the vehicle the driver hit the gas pedal which caused the truck to crash into the side of the building,” Police said. “The truck partially entered the kitchen area before it came to a stop.”

It does not appear drugs or alcohol played a role in this crash. Mayer was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
