Wasco Baseball Spring Registration Now Open

Online registration is now open for our Spring 2015 season! Please register early to secure your spot before leagues fill up! See below for more information, including registration cost.

We are a 100% volunteer-led organization committed to providing the best baseball experience for our community youth. We provide a positive, structured, educational baseball experience, rich with sportsmanship and healthy recreational competition for approximately 2,200 boys and girls aged 5 to 17 years during two seasons per year (Spring/Summer and Fall). Our league has no residency requirements so players are welcome regardless of where you live.

No matter the age of your growing ball player, Wasco Baseball has an appropriate level for you. Our recreational baseball program aims for players to learn fundamentals, develop a love for the game, and most importantly, have fun!

The Spring season begins with practices in early April, opening day is April 25. Games are played Mon - Fri starting at 5:30 or 6pm. Sat start times range 9 - 5pm. No Sunday games, this day could be used for make up games. No games are played Memorial Day weekend and the season concludes the end of June.

Hat, jersey, socks, and baseball pants are included in the registration fee. Because safety is our highest priority, we provide quality equipment such as batting helmets and catchers gear for each team.

Below is a brief description of each league (age as of 4/30/15):

Peewee: Cost $150.00
• Age 5 - 6 yrs. three innings in length, all players play the field and bat each inning. Coach pitches to team. A batting tee may be used. Coach can form their team. Limestone infields to minimize rainouts.

Instructional: Cost 160.00
• Age 7- 8 yrs. Nine players play the field. All bat or until three outs are made. Two divisions (Red - coach pitch & Blue partial kid pitch). Limestone infields to minimize rainouts.
• A players first year has to be played in Red. After that they can play in red or blue.
• Must be 8yrs old to play in Blue.
• Coach can form their team.

For our Minor, Major, and Pony leagues: All players will go through a tryout and be evaluated by the coaches. They will then be chosen through a draft. Players not able to attend the tryout will be picked through a blind draft, which is held at the end of draft day. Coach & assistant coaches are placed on the same team with their son/daughter.

Minor: Cost $190.00
• Age 9 - 10 yrs. IHSA baseball rules with some modifications, such as: no infield fly or dropped third strike. No lead offs, steal bases once ball crosses the plate. All bat, player pitch. Limestone infields to minimize rainouts.

Major: Cost $195.00
• Age 11 - 12 yrs. IHSA baseball rules with a few modifications. All bat, player pitch.

Pony: Cost $205.00
• Age 13 - 14 yrs. IHSA baseball rules with a couple modifications.

Colt: Cost $230.00
• Age 15 - 18 yrs. IHSA baseball rules.

Club: Cost $230.00
• 16 - 20 yrs. IHSA baseball rules. For players NOT PLAYING high school baseball. (IHSA Rules)
• 10 game season from 4/4/14 – 5/10/15 plus single elimination tournament (weekend of 5/16/15). Championship recognition.
• Primarily Sunday games except Easter weekend when games are on Saturday. Games played at Brown Road Field.

Play ups: If player is within one year of the next age level up, they can attend the play up tryout (Saturday, 3/7/15) in order to play in the next higher league. Example: player is 8 as of 4/30/15, he/she qualifies to play instructional but can attempt to play up into minors since that age level is for 9 - 10 yr olds.
