Woman Injured, Dog Killed in Batavia House Fire
Fire officials suspect an electrical problem caused the blaze.

BATAVIA, IL - A woman was injured and her dog was killed in a fire that broke out in a basement of a home in Batavia Thursday night.
Firefighters responded to the blaze on the 600 block of Cleveland Avenue at about 11:45 p.m., according to the Daily Herald. The woman was able to safely get out after a smoke detector alarm woke her up. She was taken to Delnor Hospital.
One dog died in the fire but three others survived. Fire officials suspect an electrical problem caused the blaze, according to the article.
