The Chicago Tribune cited a district personnel report as evidence of McCauley’s resignation, which was effective Dec. 3, 2013. The report is included in the packet for the District 303 Board of Education meeting on Monday.
District officials told the Tribune will simplify things for the district, which faced the prospect of an extensive and potentially costly process of terminating a tenured teacher. McCauley has been with the district 19 years.
McCauley faces from six to 30 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charges, which exclude probation. The other charges carry penalties ranging from probation to seven years’ imprisonment.
