Ald. Matt O'Shea (19th) said one of three suspects in Sunday's double carjackings is in custody. Video released.

CHICAGO — Chicago police have arrested one of three suspects in Sunday’s double carjackings, Ald. Matt O’Shea said in an email blast to 19th Ward residents. Police were able to recover the Ford Expedition, one of the cars taken at gunpoint. Both carjackings are believed to be related.
Around 3:49 a.m. Sunday, in the parking lot of Subway, 3154 W. 103rd St., two women were sitting in their blue 2017 Kia Forte, when three men approached the car pointing a handgun and shotgun at the women, demanding their vehicle, according to police.
About an hour later, at 4:55 a.m., a ride-share driver waiting for a customer in the 10200 block of S. Oakley Ave., had his black 2019 Ford Expedition was stolen at gunpoint. The carjackers were driving a blue car, possibly the Kia taken from the subway lot.
