111th Street To Close For Railroad Work At Rockwell Crossing
Traffic on 111th Street will be detoured to 115th Street from Monday, Oct. 14 until Monday, Oct. 21.
CHICAGO — 111th Street will be closed to through traffic between Western and Kedzie avenues next week as CSX Transportation works on the railroad crossing at 111th and Rockwell. Signage will be posted on both Western and Kedzie to divert traffic to 115th Street from the start of the project on Monday, Oct. 14 to its expected completion date on Monday, Oct. 21, 19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea told neighborhood residents in an email on Friday.
"My staff will be working with CSX Transportation and the Chicago Department of Transportation to minimize the impact this project will have on local residents," O'Shea said. "I ask for everyone to be patient and drive carefully near the work zone."
