CHICAGO — To show support for veterans and their families, the 19th Ward recently launched the Freedom Isn't Free Campaign benefitting the Road Home Program at Rush University Medical Center. "Freedom Isn't Free" T-shirts and yard signs are available now for purchase online via the 19th Ward Road Home.

T-shirts are $10 for children's sizes and $15 for adults; yard signs are $20. All proceeds will benefit the veteran’s mental health services through the Road Home Program at Rush.

Additionally, Horse Thief Hollow and Open Outcry Brewing Company will both be offering specialized brews throughout the month of June. Both brew pubs will be donating $1 for each beer sold to the Road Home Program. Throughout the month, activities will be scheduled to raise awareness about mental health in conjunction with National Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month. It is important to reduce the stigma associated with PTSD and help ensure those suffering receive proper treatment.
