19th Ward Residents' Feedback Sought In CDOT's Streetscape Plan

A virtual meeting will be held June 23 to gather residents' feedback on improvements along 111th Street from Homan to Sacramento.

CHICAGO — The Chicago Department of Transportation will hold a virtual public meeting for 19th Ward residents at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 23. City officials are gathering residents’ feedback to a proposed Streetscape Improvement project along 111th Street from Homan Avenue to Sacramento Avenue.

Streetscape projects seek to spark interest in a specific commercial strip, increase safety for all users, improve traffic flow, and increase walkability and neighborhood connectivity. Improvements include wider sidewalks with full street resurfacing, ADA improvements, street furniture, new lighting, light pole identifiers, hanging baskets, above ground planters and new trees.

CDOT will be presenting the design and coordination to date, as well as provide an opportunity for questions and answers. A recording of the meeting will be posted to the project website for those who cannot attend.
