95th Street Will Close In East Beverly For Rail Crossing Repairs

CHICAGO — A part of 95th Street in East Beverly will be closed for a 10-day span in early June due to scheduled repairs on the Metra Rick Island Line 95th Street rail crossing. Replacement and resurfacing is planned and the vehicular crossing will be closed and out of servie from June 3 until June 13, Metra said in a news release.

Detour signs will be posted, directing motorists to Vincennes Avenue, Halsted Street and 103rd Street during construction.

Construction is expected to include the removal and replacement of rails, ties, ballast, rubber panels and asphalt. This project is part of the regularly scheduled maintenance of Metra’s assets, according to the news release.

"Crossing renewals provide a smoother ride for motorists and ensure the continued safety of railroad operations," the news release states.
