An Editor Bids Farewell

It's been fun, but now I say goodbye.

Dear Readers,

It is with mixed emotions that I'm writing to let you know today is my last day at Patch.

For the past three and a half years I have had the pleasure of not only reporting on these great communities, but getting to know many of you personally. This was kind of the perfect job in that way. I got to report and work as a journalist while developing a real personal connection with my audience.

I just took a glance at my account and realized that I have written almost 10,000 stories, event listings, comments and posts during my time at Patch. If there were more hours in a day I probably would have written more. That's because these communities are vibrant, exciting places where there is never a shortage of fascinating people and important stories.

If working in community journalism has taught me anything, it's that an active and engaged community can be immensely powerful in improving the lives of those who call it home. It's vital that you stay informed about what's going on in your neighborhood and continue to be vocal about how to improve it.

Thank you for all the news tips, constructive comments and for embracing this start-up neighborhood news source.

As far as I'm concerned, I had the time of my life building this site from nothing and growing an audience that demands to know what's happening in their town.

I couldn't have asked for anything more.

If you want to stay in touch, you can find me on Twitter @DanLambert22 or on LinkedIn. You can even shoot me an email at DLamb22@gmail.com.

Keep reading and posting!
