Best Pizza: Pick Your South Side Favorite In Bracket Showdown
The favorite pizza of Beverly, Mt. Greenwood and Morgan Park residents will be chosen at the end of this tournament featuring 16 pizzerias.
CHICAGO — October is National Pizza Month, and nowhere in the country can claim to have better pizza than the South Side of Chicago. Last year, Beverly-Mt. Greenwood Patch followers on Twitter took interest in a bracket-style poll to find the favorite neighborhood pizza spot among eight nominations. The finding was the Barraco's, the No. 4 seed in that poll, had the most robust Twitter following as the local chain won best pizza in the neighborhood over Fox's in the championship round.

We're going to do something similar this October, but switch some things up a little. Instead of finding out the favorite pizza in the neighborhood, let's find out the neighborhood's favorite pizza. Which means neighborhood residents can pick any pizza they like. So the likes of Roseangela's Vito & Nick's and Palermo's are included in this tournament.
The bracket was selected mainly based on comments made on a Beverly-Mt. Greenwood Patch Facebook question about pizza. And although any pizzeria was accepted in this version, it was still a neighborhood one that heads in as the No. 1 seed for the second year in a row.
