Beverly Dry Goods Opening On Walden Parkway: Bev Biz Beat
A wide range of items will be available at a Beverly neighborhood business opening a storefront on Thursday.

CHICAGO — Mary Moss has run the Beverly Dry Goods shop out of her home in the Beverly neighborhood and at the 95th Street Farmers Market for about a year now. But come Thursday, her goal of opening a storefront will be achieved. The business that sells a wide variety of miscellaneous items makes its debut at 9915 Walden Parkway, in the spot most recently home to Capsule Chicago, on July 2.
"We are super excited," said Moss, who will run the store with some help from her husband, Jason. "I don't this would be possible in many parts of the city."
Beverly Dry Goods is most known for its candles, Moss said, but recently began offering a black baseball cap that reads "South Side" that's been a particular hot seller as of late.

"Graham Elliott wore it and ever since it has been blowing up," she said, noting the shop will also offer various clothing items including baby onesies and body care products like soaps and balms.
"That's why we named it 'Dry Goods,'" Moss said. "It's about giving the community everything it needs."

Moss said there's been "great support in the neighborhood" where she and Jason have lived for about three years, and when the Capsule location became available back in April "we knew that was the best spot."
"This is such a supportive community that really rallies around its artists," Moss said. "We were just waiting for the right opportunity."
Beverly Dry Goods will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. It will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.
"We'll give you another opportunity to show your South Side pride," Moss said. "We know there sure is a lot of it here."
