Beverly Home Sales Rise Sharply
The number of homes sold in Beverly this year is 27 percent higher than it was last year, according to a study by Crain's.

CHICAGO, IL -- The Chicago neighborhood with the highest growth in home sales over the last year is Beverly. Sales from the first nine months of 2017 are up by 27 percent compared to numbers from 2016, according to data obtained by Crain's.
By the end of September, there were 185 homes sold in Beverly.
Prices for Beverly homes are also on the rise, Crain's reports. The median sale price of $297,000 is 7.7 percent higher than it was in 2016.

Interestingly, the Morgan Park neighborhood that borders Beverly is one of the city neighborhoods that saw a decline in sales from the same time period.
Reasons for the increase in Beverly's popularity include its longtime affordability and new layer of hipness, analysts discussed with Crain's.
