Beverly Man With Concealed-Carry Shoots Robber In Knee: Police

The 69-year-old man was approached by three men who demanded his wallet when he drew his gun and shot one of them, police said.

CHICAGO — A 69-year-old Beverly man with a conceal-carry license shot a would-be robber in the knee when he was approached by three men in the street, police said.

The three men demanded his belongings, prompting the Beverly man to draw his gun and shoot one of them in the knee, police said. The men took off and fled in a Ford Fusion that crashed in the 8700 block of South Vincennes.

The men ran away after their car crashed and were arrested moments later, police said. All three were taken to local hospitals and Area 2 detectives are investigating.
