Binny's Beverage Depot Opens on 95th Street Today

The former Bleekers Bowl has reopened as a Binny's Beverage Depot with some of its original details still hanging around.

The Midwest's largest alcohol retailer opens its newest location Wednesday morning in Evergreen Park.

Binny's Beverage Depot will open at 9 a.m. in the old Bleeker's Bowling Lanes, 3477 W. 95th St. This will be the 30th Binny's outpost.

“We are revitalizing a beloved neighborhood landmark and introducing Binny's to a prominent community,” said Binny's owner and CEO Michael Binstein in a statement.

Binny's kept the Bleekers building in tact and even opened up the formerly tiled ceiling to reveal the original stained woodwork and rafters. The store will also feature a small shrine to its former occupant in the form of salvaged bowling balls and pins which will be displayed in a nod to the neighborhood landmark.

The 23,000 square foot store has a 28 door beer cooler, a temperature controlled wine cellar for fine and rare wines, a walk-in humidor and a wide selection of over  10,000 wine, spirits and beers, according to the company.

"The store, like all Binny's locations, features the best, most knowledgeable staff,
ready to provide our customers with the highest level of service," said Director of Operations for Binny's, Rick Parenti.

A more formal grand opening will take place the first week in December and will feature appearances and special events. From now until then, the store will be offering deals and special tastings throughout the day.
