Biros Family Touch Drives Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago
The Fitzpatrick Team Modeled After Bill Biros Approach for Putting Families in Homes
Bill Biros is in the business of family.
The head of Biros Realty first closed a deal to put a roof over a family in 1977, founded Biros Real Estate in 1982, expanded to the Prudential Real Estate network and became an affiliate with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in 2014.
For nearly four decades, the common thread during change and growth singularly remained “the business of family.”

Three of Biros’ children have worked as agents: Amie, William and Karen. Bill Biros' sister, Sharon Biros Koerber, is an agent, as well as Loris Pfeiffer Ryan, his niece.
“All the kids were secretaries at some point,” said Bill.

A master of details in searching, finding and selling homes, Biros excelled in assisting clients with credit and financing needs “because it helped families.” It that was a subject he knew intimately.
The families who sought these services hailed from all the places Biros built his reputation – on the indoor and outdoor basketball courts in St. Sabina Parish and Leo High School, in the classrooms at St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Indiana, in the confines of Mendel Catholic as a teacher and coach, and even from his days as a special agent for the Illinois Bureau of Investigation.
“Connecting and reconnecting with friends and helping them with the dream of home ownership is one of the most satisfying careers imaginable,” said Biros. “Family structure is the undeniable fabric that keeps our world spinning and holds us together from generation to generation.”
Within the culture, a subculture of “family” evolved in the Biros offices.
Each year, the talents of additional agents spurred the thriving real estate powerhouse, following the Biros way of relationship building from generation to generation. Over the years, agents like Bob Fitzpatrick of Morgan Park brought in his family members, taught them the profession and encouraged another generation to offer home buying services to their peers.
Evergreen Park resident Cheryl Clifford Cronin brought her own daughter, Jennifer, to become an agent.
Cronin and Fitzpatrick watched Biros navigate changes from Biros Real Estate to Prudential and then on to Berskhire Hathaway.
“Bill was so good to me after I sold the service station," said Bob Fitzpatrick, who turned to real estate after owning and operating Bob's Service Station at 111th and Western Avenue, where Beverly Arts Center now stands.
"There are not enough things I could say about what a great guy Bill Biros is. He taught me everything home selling and services and I'm so glad he's staying around a few more years to guide us all.
“Relationships formed from friends and family are a reflection of trust,” said Biros. “I hadn’t realized it until now but it feels good to know that the importance of family defines us.”
In addition to Cronin Hanes, family teams within the larger organization include the Fitzpatrick Team, comprised Bob and daughters Mary Duleba and Jeannine Fitzpatrick. The Freeman Group, led by Manager Laura Freeman, operates like a family with Freeman mentoring Susan Romano and Erin Cotter over the years.
Projecting family structure when selling homes makes for a very sound business model for Biros and his staff and proved ideal for creating synergy with the professionals at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago.
Not one to stand still or in the way of growth, Biros recently completed an expansion and merger with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago.
“The Biros name has done well but the change to ‘Chicago’ will build on strength, tradition and leadership,” said Biros. “Those are the same qualities we instill in our professionals.”
While the commitment to service is paramount, the merger increases their resources, market reach and support for the agents moving homes.
Biros said he’s not ready to retreat into full retirement, so for the immediate years he remains the face of the real estate HomeServices at Berkshire Hathaway Chicago in Evergreen Park, IL at 3580 West 95th Street.
He’s proud that his family will continue to surge as the market leader in the local communities it serves.
“After 39 years, the business stays the same,” said Biros. “We were lucky to meet the people from the Berkshire Hathaway Chicago office who have the same ideas about how to treat people with an open-door attitude.”
Biros and his wife, Regina, have 16 grandchildren, which has sparked the family patriarch’s desire to attend less showings and closings and take in more afternoon baseball games in the park and weekend basketball game where the Biros name will be on the backs of jerseys, as prominently as they have been on “sold” signs for four decades.
