Buck Stays In 19th Ward Thanks To Anonymous Donor
An anonymous Mt. Greenwood donor bought $2,500 in Bucks Stay Here-cards, then told the businesses to treat their customers on him.

CHICAGO — A Mount Greenwood business owner who wants to remain anonymous (although he’s been outed on several neighborhood Facebook pages) purchased $2,500 worth of the “Buck Stays Here” gift cards and donated them back to five local businesses.
The cards were part of a holiday promotion sponsored by the Morgan Park Beverly Hills Business Association, 95th Street Beverly Hills Business Association, and the Mount Greenwood community and Business Association, designed to bolster local businesses impacted by the pandemic.
“His businesses has been very busy over the last year when these restaurants and cafés have not,” said Debra Pickett, a friend of the anonymous donor. “He wanted to do something for other business owners and the community.”

The business owner delivered $500 worth of gift cards to each of four of the businesses last Thursday and Friday, telling the owners to treat their customers on him. He purchased a $500 gift card from the fifth business and immediately gave it back to the owner.
