Buy A Bag Of CFD Lt. Williams' Fave Popcorn At Let's Get Poppin'

CHICAGO — The Black Fire Brigade and Let’s Get Poppin’ will honor the memory of retired Chicago Fire Lt. Dwain Williams. Residents are invited to the popcorn store at 11758 S. Western Ave., this Thursday, Dec. 10, to purchase a bag of Williams’ favorite popcorn.

Neighbors will meet up at 1 p.m. and purchase popcorn at 2 p.m. Bags of popcorn will be sold for $10, with a portion of the proceeds going to Williams’ family.

“This is a great way to honor the memory of Lt. Williams and support a great small business in our community,” Ald. Matt O’Shea said.

Residents may also participate in the 19th Ward Small Business Super Raffle. Raffle tickets are just $10 to win a new Ford Esape (MSRP $26,725), $15,000 and many other great prices. Purchase tickets online by clicking here.

Williams was gunned down on Dec. 3 in a deadly attempted carjacking in the store’s parking lot. Let’s Get Poppin’, community activists and organizations are offering a $35,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
