CHICAGO (WOODLAWN) —Mount Carmel High School on Chicago's South Side has become a popular filming locale for the crew at NBC's hit series "Chicago Fire." The show was at the school for the second time in the past three months this week filming scenes for an upcoming episode in the school's science wing.
A classroom and hallway were used to film scenes while not disrupting regular school activity. Classes for Mount Carmel students went on as normal and the TV show worked around the school day.
A Mount Carmel High School spokesman said the show crew was "incredibly accommodating."

"The film crew was meticulous in transforming the school down to the most intricate details," the school said in a news release. "Exterior signage, brand new murals in the renovated first floor, bulletin board in the main office as well as teacher name plaques outside their classroom were all edited to provide continuity."
In the school gym, all Mount Carmel Caravan championship banners were changed to Stover Academy Lions championship banners for the time being. Which means the fictional Stover had to have been a state powerhouse as well with 24 state football championships.
