Chicago's Department of Planning and Development will open a one-day only, lottery registration on May 20 for roof and porch repair grants.

CHICAGO — One-time grants will be offered to income-eligible residents for making repairs on their roofs or porches. There is a limited amount of funds available through Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development. A lottery system will be put in place to select residents.

The 2022 program will open its yearly, one-day only, lottery registration on Thursday, May 20th. Registration will be available online from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by visiting Chicago Roof and Porch, through the CHI311 mobile app, or calling 311. Those interested, must register on May 20, to be placed in the lottery for possible funds from the roof and porch repair program. Registration does not guarantee participation in the program.

This program is open to all residents of Chicago who own and live in their one to four- unit properties only.
