Chicago Officials OK Beverly's Cork & Kerry Irish Pub Reopening
The long-time Beverly Irish pub was closed down by the city for violations last weekend and had its safety plan approved by city officials.

CHICAGO, IL – Cork and Kerry successfully submitted its plan to the City of Chicago's Health Department and Local Liquor Control Commissioner and has reopened on and has classic vinyl recordings and evening of televised sports scheduled for Friday evening, the tavern's owner announced.
The staple of Western Avenue opened earlier on following the submission of a plan that recognizes Cork & Kerry as being in full compliance. The reopening comes less than a week after city officials announced they had closed the Irish pub down for violations of coronavirus-related guidelines.
In an interview with Patch earlier this week, Cork and Kerry owner Bill Guide said that a press release sent out by Ald. Matt O'Shea on Monday incorrectly characterized events that led to the tavern being closed down. Guide said that he planned to reopen "better than ever" in coming days.
