Crosswalk At 111th Street Station To Close For Platform Rehab

The crosswalk at the 111th Street Metra station is expected to be out of service for three months.

CHICAGO, IL - The platform at the 111th St.-Morgan Park Metra station will be rehabilitated beginning on April 4, which means the crosswalk will be out of service for a few months.

Rock Island Line riders who regularly use the crosswalk should instead use the pedestrian street crossing at 111th and Prospect Avenue to access the inbound platform.

Work will start on the south end of the outbound platform, move to the north end of the outbound platform and then repeat the process on the inbound, Metra said in a news release.

During the work project, which is expected to last about three months, the trackside depot doors will be locked, but the station depot and the south and west doors will remain open.
