CSX Closes 4 Rail Crossings In 19th Ward Starting Monday

CHICAGO — Four rail crossings along the CSX Railroad Blue Island Sub Line will be closed for repairs starting June 21.

CSX Railroad will be laying new rail lines and rebuilding rough crossings on its Blue Island Sub Line, which runs parallel to Rockwell St. throughout the 19th ward community.

As a result of this work, crossings at 99th St., 105th St., 107th St., and 113th St. will all be closed for the next week. CSX has obtained the proper permits, and the CSX railroad police have been in contact with Engine 92 Chicago Fire Station to ensure strong lines of communication, according to Ald. Matt O’Shea.
