CSX Update: 103rd Street Expected To Reopen Tuesday
Work on the CSX crossing at 103rd and Sacramento has taken longer than expected, with 103rd Street expected to re-open Tuesday.

CHICAGO, IL - Work on the CSX rail crossing at 103rd and Sacramento in Mount Greenwood has taken longer than expected to complete as crews were still out there on Monday. Original plans called for the project that has closed 103rd Street between Kedzie and Western avenues for two weeks to be completed last Friday.
Workers on site Monday morning told Patch that the crossing improvements are expected to be complete by "tomorrow morning," when the street will re-open to eastbound and westbound traffic. The rail crossing itself appeared to be almost complete, also appearing to be significantly further along than it was during the middle of last week.
Outside sources confirmed with CSX that their project at the rail crossing at 111th Street and Sacramento won't start until the work on 103rd is complete. That was confirmed Monday as the 111th Street thoroughfare remained open to traffic despite previous signage that indicated Monday would be the first day it would close for two weeks.
