CHICAGO — More than $6,000 has been raised in just three days in an effort by 19th Ward residents to support the medical workers at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn amid the pandemic over the new coronavirus. The Original Pancake House - Beverly and 19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea's office have partnered to provide individual breakfasts to all the doctors, nurses, physician's assistants and other staff in the Advocate Christ emergency room and critical care department on Wednesday, March 25 and now a GoFundMe charity effort seeks to expand the neighborhood's effort to help.

"Our community stands together in times of difficulty," O'Shea said. "Now more than ever, it is critical that we support those who are protecting us."
