Anyone on a furlough as a result of the government shutdown can get free lunch at Horse Thief Hollow this week.

CHICAGO - Lunch is on the house for federal government employees currently on an unpaid furlough as a result of the government shutdown next week at Horse Thief Hollow.
"We're offering free lunch to help ease the strain on our unpaid federal workers during the shutdown," the brewery wrote on its Facebook page this week.
The free lunch offer will be on the table from Monday, Jan. 14 until Friday, Jan. 18 from 2-4 p.m.

"No matter which side of the aisle you stand on, NO ONE should have to go without pay for weeks at a time to satisfy political ideologies or egos," the social media post continued. "The welfare of hardworking Americans should not be jeopardized or exploited for political gain."
A Government-issued identification card is all that's needed to qualify for the offer, Horse Thief Hollow Owner Neil Byers said. Whether or not the employee is furloughed will be on the honor system, he added.
