Police said a 25-year-old man did not have a valid FOID or concealed carry license.
CHICAGO — A Chicago man has been charged with one felony count of armed habitual criminal after police in the city's 22nd District said he had a handgun on him without a valid FOID or concealed carry license. Javontae Harris, 25, of the 9200 block of S. Calumet Ave. was charged after he was the passenger of a car that got pulled over around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of W. 103rd Street, police said.
Police said Harris was the backseat passenger of a car that got pulled over for "minor traffic violations," and said that officers smelled a "strong odor of cannabis" when stopping the car.
When the occupants were ordered out of the car, police said a handgun was spotted on the seat where Harris was sitting and that he did not have a valid FOID or concealed carry license.
