Congressman Lipinski is accepting nomination request letters from high school students for service academies. Deadline is Oct. 5.

CHICAGO — Congressman Dan Lipinski will be nominating his last class of high school seniors interested in attending for the nation’s military college academies before leaving office. Lipinski is accepting requests for nomination from young women and men in Illinois’s 3rd Congressional District, which includes sections of Chicago’s Southwest Side, and the south and western suburbs up to the Cook-DuPage border and a small area of Will County.
Requests for nomination are being accepted by mail or email through Monday, Oct. 5.
“Nominating young women and men from the Third Congressional District for our nation’s prestigious military academies is one of the Congressional duties I value most,” Lipinski said in a news release. “I am proud that so many of the young people I have nominated have gone on to honorably serve our great nation in the Armed Forces. I strongly encourage students who want to serve our nation and have a record of academic success, demonstrated leadership, and high moral character to submit a request for nomination to the academy they wish to attend.”
