Man Shot and Killed In Grocery Store Parking Lot In Morgan Park
Chicago police believe the shooting may be gang-related and that the man was targeted.
CHICAGO (MORGAN PARK) — A man was shot and killed in the parking lot of a grocery store early Sunday evening in Morgan Park. At this time, no one is in custody.
Around 6 p.m., the man was in the parking lot of Longwood Foods, 11600 S. Longwood Drive, when he was shot in the chest and neck, police said. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police believe the man was targeted and that the shooting is gang-related.
22nd District police believe the shooting At approximately 6:00pm this evening a man was shot and killed in the parking lot of Longwood Foods (11106 S. Longwood Drive), in the Morgan Park community. Law enforcement officials believe the shooting may have been gang-related and the victim was the intended target of the attack. At this time, no offenders are in custody.

The Chicago Police Department remained on the scene throughout the evening as officers from 22nd District, detectives processing evidence and beginning the investigation.
