Marist High School Names New Hockey Coach

CHICAGO Marist High School named a Chicago Catholic League veteran coach to head its hockey program. The school announced the hiring of Mark Bandzi, a 1986 Marist alum, on Monday.

Bandzi has coached in the Catholic League for 18 years, leading his teams to 15 championship series appearances and 13 championship titles.

He's coached for Mount Carmel, Providence Catholic, Lyons Township and Stagg high schools. At Marist, he'll be both the head coach and administrator of the program.

“Everyone—from the administration, the parents, and the players—has really made us feel welcome here,” Bandzi said. “I know it is a great responsibility and I am honored that the school has put their faith in my coaches and myself to rebuild the program.”
