Marist In Hunt For New Head Coach Of Boys Basketball Program
Marist High School is looking for a new head coach to lead the boys basketball program in 2021-2022. Deadline to apply is May 3.
CHICAGO — Marist High School is seeking a head coach to lead the boys basketball program for the 2021-2022 season. The current head basketball coach, Tim Trendel, has accepted a new position at St. Patrick High School in Chicago's Belmont-Craigin neighborhood.
The ideal candidate will have previous successful coaching experience in high school or college. Other qualifications include organizing and supervising a total basketball program and substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of basketball. The new coach must also support the Marist mission.
The boys head basketball coach reports to the athletic director. Staff responsibilities include:

- Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught by staff.
- Designs conferences, clinics, and staff meetings to insure staff awareness of overall program.
- Trains, and informs staff, promotes professional growth by encouraging clinic attendance.
- Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation with the team.
There are also administrative duties, such as participating in departmental budgeting, assisting the athletic director with coordinating transportation, scheduling, arranging transportation, and organizing requirements for tournaments and special events, inventory and public relatrions. The coach also assists student athletes in his college or advanced selection. A full job description is available here.
