Memorial Procession Held For CPD Detective Todd Gillerlain

CHICAGO — A memorial procession was held through the Beverly and West Beverly neighborhoods Tuesday night in memory of Chicago Police Department Detective Todd Gillerlain, who died on May 7 at age 48. Gillerlain, a 23-year CPD veteran, lived in the West Beverly neighborhood and a procession of a few dozen cars rode past his home in remembrance.

The procession began at the Donnellan Family Funeral Home at 105th and Western after a private service for the family. It went north on Western, west on 103rd Street and north on Talman and Washtenaw avenues.

Among them are ones that called him "always upbeat and full of life," and meeting him was like "winning the humor lottery."
