Mother McAuley Basketball Team Advances To State
The Mother McAuley High School basketball team won the super-sectional Monday night and now has their eye on a state championship.

CHICAGO - The buzz at Mother McAuley High School this week will no doubt be centered on the school's basketball team, which won its super-sectional Monday night and is now just two wins away from a state championship.
According to Beverly Review sports reporter Tim O'Brien, this is the first time the Mighty Macs' basketball squad has advanced to the state round since 1995.

The two-and-a-half hour trip to Bloomington for the super-sectional did not stop the Mighty Mac faithful, who showed up in full force to support the team in its win over Rock Island at Illinois Wesleyan University.

The Mighty Macs will play in the Class 4A IHSA state semifinal on Friday.
