Mount Carmel High School president Ned Hughes said Wade was an academically and athletically gifted student, who was highly regarded by students, staff and coaches.

His sophomore theology teacher John Stimler, recalled that whenever asked for intentions during daily prayer, Wade always suggested that the class pray for the homeless.

“His sensitivity and care for others are emblematic of a man of Carmel,” Hughes said. “The Caravan has lost on our own, and we are doing everything we can to support each other, we will miss him very much.”
