CHICAGO — Neighborhood residents have yet another option for pizza beginning this week with the opening of Peace of Pizza! at 1801 W. 95th St. in Beverly. The restaurant will hold their grand opening at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31.

19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea told ward residents in a Tuesday email that the restaurant will move forward with its grand opening and will serve wings, burgers, pasta, sandwiches and salads in addition to pizza.

Owner Tamar Manasseh was worried a bit that construction in the Metra tracks just steps from the restaurant would derail the planned opening, Block Club Chicago reported last week. But O'Shea's email and a Facebook post from the business on Tuesday seem to indicate things will move forward.

Some of the new restaurant's revenue will go to fund the non-profit Mothers Against Senseless Killings, which aims to combat gun violence in Englewood. Two members of the anti-violence group were shot to death on July 26 and a GoFundMe effort has begun to help bring their killer or killers to justice.
